Zero Dark Thirty Cast

Is Lord of the Flies Better Than The Hunger Games?

Review

Zero Dark Thirty has stirred up controversy even before it opens nationwide on Wednesday. In an effort to reclaim the power of war, director Kathryn Bigelow discarded the romanticizing of the conflict and used more straightforward and unflinching storytelling. Bigelow teamed up with fellow Academy Award winner Mark Boal, and assembles an impressive cast for this film. But while this film is a compelling, engrossing thriller, it is also a complex political thriller.

Cast

The Zero Dark Thirty cast is comprised of many people from different parts of the world, and the entire list is organized alphabetically by last name. You can see each actor’s name and other pertinent information like his/her birthdate and previous roles in other films. Some of the actors are well known for their roles in other movies, but they have not yet been part of Zero Dark Thirty. Listed below are some of the actors who were cast in the movie, as well as their other works.

Production

The production of Zero Dark Thirty in Afghanistan drew widespread criticism. The film was made in a ten-week period without any removable walls, forcing the cast and crew to squeeze into confined spaces. In contrast, “Zero Dark Thirty” is a stripped-down look at a dramatic event, and shines with the decency and integrity of the central character. Here are a few facts about the film.

Oscar nominations

“Zero Dark Thirty” has received five Oscar nominations and four Golden Globes, which is no small feat. The film, directed by Kathryn Bigelow, made history by becoming the first woman to win Best Director at the Academy Awards. Ong family’s request

The Ong family is demanding an apology from the Academy Awards for using their sister’s voice to make the Oscar-nominated movie Zero Dark Thirty. Ms. Ong was the flight attendant who first alerted American Airlines to the hijacking of American Airlines Flight 11. She recorded her message, relaying the seat numbers of the hijackers. In her article for The Huffington Post, Ms. Ong’s brother called the use of his sister’s voice “outrageous” and said the filmmakers had acted poorly.

Ong’s family wants credit for Ms. Ong

In Zero Dark Thirty, a voice from the real Betty Ann Ong’s 911 call is used as a character. Ms. Ong was a flight attendant for American Airlines, which was hijacked on September 11, 2001. Her voice was recorded when she called the American Airlines operations center to report the hijacking of the plane. Her family is upset that the movie used her voice without permission and called the film ‘outrageous.’ The movie’s director, Kathryn Bigelow, is trying to resolve the issue by apologizing for it at the Academy Awards ceremony.
